Transcript of an oral history on the included cassette tape. The interview was conducted by Albert Winkler of Brigham Young University Special Collections on 17 Feb. 2000. Mark Hamilton, professor of art history at Brigham Young University, also participated in the interview. Germaine talks about combat on Bougainville and Guam and about how his faith in the Mormon religion allowed him to cope with difficult circumstances. He was severely wounded on Guam.
